Company founder Bob Kierlin has served as Fastenal's chairman of the board and a company director since Fastenal's incorporation in 1968. He was Fastenal's chief executive officer from 1968 through December 2002 and president of the company from 1968 through July 2001. Kierlin also served as a Minnesota state senator from 1999 to 2005.

Will Oberton joined Fastenal in 1980 as a part-time warehouse worker. Since then he has served in various sales, operational, and, ultimately, management roles, including chief operating officer (March 1997 through December 2002), vice president (March 1997 through June 2000), and executive vice president (June 2000 through July 2001). He was named president of the company in July 2001 and has served as CEO since December 2002. He has been a company director since June 1999.

Mike Dolan has served on Fastenal's board of directors since June 2000 and currently chairs the audit and acquisition committees. From 1995 through 2003, he was executive vice president and COO of Smead Manufacturing Company in Hastings, MN and executive vice president and COO of Z. Bigatti Cosmetics in St. Paul, MN. From 1980 to 1995, he was an audit partner with KPMG LLP, where he had been employed since 1970.

Reyne Wisecup has served as a director of the company since June 2000. She has been Fastenal's director of employee development since April 2002 and the company's director of human resources since April 1997. She was named executive vice president - human resources in November 2007.

Mr. Remick retired from the Board of Director in April 2007. Mr. Remick served as a director of the Company since the Company's incorporation in 1968. For more than the past five years, Mr. Remick has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Rochester Athletic Club, Inc., an athletic club located in Rochester, Minnesota

Robert Hansen retired from the Board in January 2009. He had served as a director of the Company since June 1999. For more than the past five years, Mr. Hansen has been an Associate Professor of Marketing and Logistics Management with the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Henry McConnon

Henry "Van" McConnon retired from our board in February 2009. He had served as a director of Fastenal since the company's incorporation in 1968. He is also president of Wise Eyes, Inc., an eyeglass retailer and wholesaler located in State College, Pennsylvania.
